The Purpose

This website exists for a couple of primary purposes:

1) To help you to progressively realize your innate creative ability to make your piano (or keyboard) practice experience more and more awesome each and every time you sit at those keys

2) To have you share with others what you are learning so they, too, can realize similar benefits

That being shared, it makes perfect sense to lay it on the table right here and now: your participation is needed and so very highly encouraged.

Piano Is For Everyone

This may seem a little far-fetched to some, but I personally believe that each and every household ought to have a piano or piano keyboard ready and available to play. The pursuit of playing the instrument need not and should not be reserved for the "serious minded" music enthusiast. Honestly, in all my years as a piano teacher, I never encountered an individual in my studio who could not have fun playing piano to some degree if they wanted to.

Prior to World War II and the birth of television, the piano and player piano was a primary source of entertainment in homes. With the ongoing popularity of sitting in front of the tube, the piano took a back seat in many homes. So many people allowed their passion for musical creativity to take a backseat to television programming.

We still have the choice as to which of the two we devote more of our attention to. Which of these choices is likely to lead to better emotional health and mental focus? Perhaps you have a perspective on this and we would like you to share it.

Just For The Fun Of It

Many individuals don't give themselves the chance to realize their personal musical potential simply because they automatically feel that if their efforts don't bring superior results, it's not worth the effort. To those people, I would simply like to ask if it is necessary to aspire to becoming a professional photographer in order to whip out that iPhone or android to take pictures.

It is my hope that readers here with more experience have their personal perspectives they are willing to share with those who have second thoughts about even sitting at a piano or keyboard. Your input just may change the quality of someone's life.
