In this lesson, we take another look at those voicings that we played for the II – V – I chord progression in Lesson #5. The voicings in that lesson and this one will provide you with a nice chord voicing “vocabulary” for major, minor, and dominant chords. You’ll want to know all of them, as you will prefer some over others for different musical situations. We also look at the II – V – I progression in a minor key, for which a tiny excerpt of My Funny Valentine (Rogers & Hart) is used. That piano playing toolbox of yours is getting heavier!
